July 29 – Jamaica

Gavin woke up this morning feeling pretty crummy so we cancelled our plans to go zip lining. I’ll have to be the Bad Ass Zip-Lining Grandma another day.  (But if truth be told….I was relieved I didn’t have to climb up the equivalent of Mt Everest to me and stand on a small platform with nothing to hold on to while they fitted me with harness, helmet, and gloves and cling for dear life on a thin cable cruising into God knows what at the end!) Dodged that bullet!!

I stayed on board with Gavin, and Allan and Rowan went ashore in search of jerk chicken. They found a kiosk and Rowan said it was tasty but spicy. Rowan’s great-grandma and his grandma Penza hail from Jamaica so Rowan was excited to set foot on Jamaican shore. Allan and I read for most of the day and then had lunch with Jamie, Tracy, and Matty.

It’s a beautiful day and Scott and Erin and the girls, after doing the Zipline excursion, came back to the boat for some pool time. Gavin is having a bit of sea sickness. Medical gave him Zofran. He hasn’t been very hungry but hopefully he’ll feel better tomorrow.
